The residence and studio of artist Spyros Vassiliou was transformed into a museum, open to the public, from 2003 to 2016 (Feb. 28th). Known as the 'Atelier Spyros Vassiliou' in the heart of Athens a few steps from the Acropolis, the Vassiliou foundation continues to provide certificates of authenticity, organize exhibitions, curate publications and protect the artist's largest archive -converting it into a digital archive.
Spyros Vassiliou was a very productive artist, he painted over 4000 paintings, designed numerous book and record covers, created hundreds of set and constume designs, as well as became a self-taught woodcarver during the German occupation.
The Vassiliou foundation collects images of his work continuesly in order to publish a catalogue raissonne, a collection of his [entire] work.
